An isolated building, immersed in a sea of centuries-old olive trees, once the home of farmers converted, today, as a refuge from the urban world.

The project develops the theme of the restoration of a rural building, including the adjacent barn, recovering its typical characterizing elements: the large openings, which mark the main south front, allow a continuous dialogue with the natural landscape and, where present, the terracotta mandolate have been maintained and used as large diaphragms that shield the windows that are hidden behind them.

The approach towards the organization of the space around the building was guided by the desire to offer usable and enjoyable areas during the various seasons, with particular attention to the large southern courtyard and the lounge area of the pool.

Internally, the spaces are designed in a contemporary key, trying to maintain the sense of the original spatiality and particular attention has been paid to the search for materials that would contribute to giving a sense of comforting warmth and a sober and refined beauty.
