The family is the first place for growth, where joys, smiles, and future projects are cultivated. The house is the centre and the stage on which the stories and the experience of each member, young and old, come to life.

The project sees the renovation of an apartment located in the (once) infamous neighborhood called 'In Pelleria', one of the oldest districts within the walls of Lucca, where leather was processed and this is the chosen place from the clients to welcome the members of their new nucleus.

The intervention expresses the will to hold two worlds together, that of the old and that of the new, in a balance able to maintain the identity of both without sacrificing the reasons for neither of them.

The open space of the living area is characterized by the masonry that, in some portions, let the original brick wall resurface and from the entrance wall equipped to accommodate a generous bookcase and the containers, set back from the wall wire, of the operative area of the kitchen.

​Wood against wood: the floor, made of painted oak, is a mirror to an original roof, made by beams, rafters and terracotta bricks, restored and brought back to life.
