Invitation to participate in the second phase of the competition as the only italian design group
The design entry of the new district in Backnang (Stuttgart), for the international competition organized by IBA'27, is born in balance and harmony between nature, technology and man which is at the centre of the design process that aims to recover the natural ability to establish a strong connection between the person and the environment in which he lives.
Technology represents the link between man and nature, a tool that, when properly exploited, must act in such a way as to foster empathy between the individual and the space that hosts him. The neighbourhood is constituted as a "livable neighbourhood" where most of the services are available at a walking and cycling distance of about 15 minutes from your home, to reduce traffic and pollution levels (both environmental and acoustic) and, in the meantime, enhance the neighbourhood relations, and rediscover a lifestyle on a human scale in which time and quality of life return to being fundamental values. These interventions affect the perception of the public space shared with fellow citizens: the neighbourhood regenerates itself thanks to an induced cultural change.
