HOTEL PALAZZO DIPINTO - EXPANSION

There was a period, at the end of the 16th century, in which Lucca presented itself as a 'picta' city, like Venice, Florence or the nearby Pisa, thanks to the inspiration of Agostino Ghirlanda, creator of a new decorative frenzy of residences, found in the graffiti that would have mad the Palazzo Dipinto (which lends its name to the square on which it faces) one of the most evocative and appreciated episodes of a certain taste of urban decoration.

It is in this glimpse, almost hidden and intimate of the city that one of the oldest buildings is located, born as a post office and stable but which today lives as a prestigious Boutique Hotel 'Palazzo Dipinto'.

The design inspiration could only come from the history that permeates these spaces and of which there is a clear reading in the elements of the building itself.

The aura and the traditional appearance of the rooms have been preserved and harmoniously integrated with a contemporary language: the ground floor, intended for a welcoming area (hall, bar and winter garden), is amply lit by natural light both thanks to the enhancement of the large existing openings and to the steel and glass structure of the inner garden, located in the heart of the hotel. The original wall texture is also visible, left visible in the hall area, as well as the wooden elements of the roof.

The 20 rooms, on the first and second floors of the building, have been designed to integrate with the existing historical structure, keeping original elements as much as possible without, however, neglecting the needs of the new reality.

Particular attention and care have also been placed in the design of the furnishings, planned for each type of accommodation, preferring the use of materials, fabrics and finishes of value.
