Guiding Thread

The house in Brancoli appeared as an austere and introverted home, with small windows, darkened ceilings, confined spaces, a completely buried wall, and closed passages that isolated it, making it an “enclosed” place.

The project develops around a single gesture, a guiding line that crosses the entire house: a “guiding thread” connecting the spaces, accentuating the lengthwise aspect and opening the house towards the outside through large openings from east to west, which serve as the starting and ending points of the line.

This structure allows a continuous perception of the house’s length, interrupted only by furnishing elements placed along the path, emphasizing its balance.

The design expresses itself through the elegance of simplicity, with warm and enveloping tones that create a welcoming atmosphere.

The walls, sometimes smooth and other times left as bare stone, the softened ceiling tones, and the rosy terracotta floor all evoke the colors of the “earth,” embracing each space.

It is an architecture that combines style, comfort, and beauty, enhancing the home as a space of harmony and connection.
