In collaboration with Arch. Pille Lausmäe-Lõoke
A perfect balance between Estonian architecture and Italian tradition comes to life in this penthouse apartment, situated in one of the most charming areas of Lucca’s historic centre, offering a view over the city’s rooftops.
The project enhances and brings to light the most distinctive historical elements: the ceiling with decorations evoking Lucca’s coats of arms, the brick arch, and the light stone mullioned windows. A carefully considered lighting scheme accentuates the living spaces, highlighting plaster cornices, creating plays of light and shadow, and forming intimate areas where the home becomes a welcoming retreat.
In this interplay of light and shade, the volumes rise, and marble finishes add elegance to the rooms, while glossy resin pathways harmoniously contrast with the warmth of natural wood. The kitchen, minimalist and geometric, seems to float in space, while refined fabrics cover some walls, imparting a touch of sophistication felt in every detail.
Finally, ascending the staircase, the light remains a key feature, guiding us to a unique view of the city’s artistic heritage, offering an irreplaceable glimpse… the Guinigi Tower.
